Welcome to our world of wonder and excitement!

Carol: I love interior design. I went to school for it. Which is why this property is so special to me…I love taking a blank slate and creating something beautiful. I also love being in business with my husband and two of our children. It makes it special. We’ve been bringing the kids to South Haven since they were little, and we just love it here. But I must admit Disney still is my happiest place on earth! I have run a Disney marathon and many half marathons, but perhaps my most interesting skill is riding both a 6ft and a regular unicycle!

Mike: Carol and I have always enjoyed hosting parties and entertaining our friends and family. Entering the hospitality industry was something that we discussed for many years; however, it was not until we made the move from the “Big City” of Chicago to our second home of the last 30 years, South Haven, MI that our dream was realized.

I am a combination of a business entrepreneur who enjoys building and running businesses and a small-town guy who grew up with woods and farms as our neighbors. I can do global travel as easily as I can spend a day working in my gardens and hiking in the woods.

Carol and I have been avid travelers both when our three children were young and even more now that they are young adults starting their own lives. Our journeys have led us to understand the importance of a home away from home, especially when traveling with family and friends. My day job has allowed me for the last 20 years to work with the Hospitality industry, focusing on traditional hotels for much of that time and now in recent years, expanding our focus to that of the short term rental industry and as a result, we have carefully curated a home-like setting in our vacation rentals (with some fun additions that many homes do not have), ensuring that every member of your group feels comfortable, at ease and cannot wait to come back.

A proud Xavier University alum, I have a deep passion for sports, especially when it comes to the Cincinnati Bengals, and my hometown Chicago Cubs. Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, I always enjoy searching out new adventures. South Haven has been a favorite getaway for over 15 years now, being only a short 2.5 hour drive away. Creating Serenity Shores Vacation Home Company with my family has been an incredible learning experience and a labor of love. We’re excited to share our favorite adventurous getaway with you!
